Runner’s Glide is a must have for most runners. Some lather it over their entire foot to help mitigate blister formation (definitely a good idea). A lot of runners will also smear the glide on the inside of their thighs, especially if they have well-developed hamstrings, since they tend to rub together a lot. As a runner, no matter where you use it you’ll probably come out of a long run in better shape had you not had runner’s glide at all.
What do you do though if you wake up one morning in need of a stick of glide and there’s none in sight? Well, experience has taught me that deodorant works almost as well as runner’s glide. The type of deodorant you use matters as well. Personally I’ve had better experience with solids as opposed to the gels. As for the fellas, don’t be afraid to rip open that shirt and smear some on your nipples either. I’ve seen plenty of guys cross the finish line with two bloody trails down their shirt. Personally I’d rather my nipples be fresh and non-odorous than chafed and bleeding!
Use Deodorant to Prevent Chafing
Don’t be afraid to rub it on other areas such as your legs and feet as well. The residue left over can be a bit funky but you’ll at least have soft skin and smell a bit better than the runner next to you.
