MadeToRun is designed with the running community in mind. More specifically the goal of this site is to allow involvement and contributions from other runners to the site. Content coming from the same contributors typically leads to a noticeable bent in the types of articles written. For example, some writers are extremely good at providing in depth analysis of running nutrition. A consistent stream of articles from such a writer is certainly beneficial to runners as an audience. Nonetheless we think it’s important to provide a diversity of pieces from several types of runners to provide a truly comprehensive, meaningful and insightful view of running and that can only be done by opening up the site to other people’s perspectives via their own contributions.
With that being said I’d like to take the time to introduce the first guest writer on MadeToRun – Laura Traferro
Laura Traferro has run two marathons, 4 half marathons and numerous smaller races. She loves running and training, and is planning on doing the relay from Calistoga to Santa Cruz in May 2009 with 11 of her friends. When not running, she enjoys numerous other outdoor activities including cycling, camping, backpacking, rock climbing, hiking and snowshoeing. She also actively practices yoga. Laura currently works as a grant writer for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund in San Francisco. She has a BA and MA in English.
